Nichole Carlson B.A., NSCA-CPT, is a nationally certified personal trainer. She graduated from Ashford University in 2014 where she competed in track and field at the national level. She joined the Elite Fitness team in January of 2015 and is now the manager of the brand new Elite Fitness in her hometown of Center Point. She enjoys competing in all sports and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Denver Broncos.
Kira Chatterton, B.A., CSCS, graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2017 with a Bachelor's degree in Movement and Exercise Science. She is a nationally certified fitness instructor who discovered her love for teaching and training others while instructing at the UNI Rec Center. She loves being able to work with people of all fitness levels to achieve their goals. She joined the Elite Fitness team in September 2017 and is excited for all the opportunities she will have as a part of the Elite Fitness Staff.
Maddy Elwick LAT, ATC, graduated from Luther College with a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, and is Licensed and NATABOC Certified. She loves working with athletes in a variety of sports and developed a love for sports medicine and kinesiology from her time as a competitive swimmer growing up in Vinton, Iowa. In her free time she enjoys walking her dogs and spending time outdoors.
Cindy Hathaway has enjoyed yoga since my early 20's but never took it seriously until she retired in 2012 from the corporate world. Cindy was fortunate to travel to Anamaya, Costa Rica for a month long teacher training with Jacolyn Chioda, who has traveled all over the world to learn yoga. After she received her 200 RYT with Yoga Alliance, she started teaching and has never looked back. Yoga brings us good health through attention to our bodies breathing, flexibility, balancing, and calming our mind. Cindy loves the feeling when my students come out of Savasana and she can see the transformation that 60 minutes of yoga has given them to better their lives.
Carsen Kuesel, B.A., ACSM-CPT, graduated from Cornell College in 2014 with a Bachelors in Kinesiology and is a certified personal trainer through the ACSM. He ran cross country and track all four years while in college, but now he is competing in powerlifting competitions through the state.
Amy Maki, MPH, AAAI/ISMA, is a nationally certified group fitness instructor and personal trainer. She received her undergraduate degree in Health Education/Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master of Public Health degree from Northern Colorado. Amy began her fitness career in 1996 teaching fitness classes and personal training at the first health center open to students. It was there that she discovered a love of helping others achieve health/fitness goals. Since then, Amy has taught a variety of classes throughout Colorado and the Cedar Rapids area. Amy began at Elite Fitness Center Point in April of 2017, took a short break, and now she’s back and instructing Zumba.
Marcia Sisk, MA, s a nationally certified Zumba instructor. Marcia graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2004 with a Masters Degree in Community Health Education, and is employed at the Black Hawk County Health Department as Program Manager. Coming from a background of fitness and liturgical dance, she fell head over heels in love with the concept of a dance exercise program that combines all the elements of fitness (cardio, muscle, conditioning), but is so much fun that it doesn't feel like a workout. Marcia began dancing her way to fitness, obtaining her Zumba instructor certification in 2013. Marcia has taught Zumba at the MAC in Cedar Rapids, and currently team teaches with her sister 3 nights each week in Waterloo! Marcia loves Latin music and dance, watching her two teen athletes compete in various sporting events, and helping people be the best that they can be. She began instructing Zumba class at Elite Fitness Center Point in October of 2016 and is now the Zumba instructor at Elite Fitness Marion.
Jon Thuerauf, B.A., ATC, LAT, NSCA-CPT, is a licensed and nationally certified athletic trainer, and personal trainer. He graduated from Coe College where he worked with athletes in football, wrestling, and basketball to help them achieve their fitness goals and rehabilitate injuries. Jon works one on one with not only athletes but the general public to overcome injuries and reach their fitness goals. Jon is the Fitness Director for all the Elite Fitness locations but mainly works out of the Lisbon location.
Mandy Tressel, B.A., PTA, Tai Chi for Rehabilitation Instructor, primarily works out of the Marion Ability Physical Therapy office, occasionally traveling to and assisting the other locations, and she instructs Tai Chi and Bootcamp at the Marion Elite Fitness. Mandy received her BA in 2012 from the University of Iowa in Health and Human Physiology and her Associates degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant from Kirkwood Community College in 2015. Mandy also holds a degree in Communications and is a certified Tai Chi for Rehabilitation Instructor. Living in Marion, Mandy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, appreciating the outdoors and venturing to new local eateries.
Chris Will, B.A., NASM – CPT, SFS, graduated from the University of Iowa in 2005 with a B.A. in Health Promotion. He began his career as a certified personal trainer in Denver, CO, working for 24 Hour Fitness, Life Time Fitness and Colorado Athletic Club. After 5 years in Denver, Chris moved back to Iowa in 2010. He has been with Ability Physical Therapy since 2013 and is currently managing Elite Fitness Marion (formerly Ability Fitness). Chris is passionate about helping his clients achieve their goals, improving their quality of life and working with athletes of all ages. He enjoys playing golf, sand volleyball and spending time with family and friends.
Eric Wykert, B.S., PTA, ACSM-CPT, received his BS degree in 2012 from Western Illinois University in Exercise Science and his Associates degree from Kirkwood College in 2016 as a Physical Therapists Assistant. Eric is originally from Wapello and now lives in Iowa City. Eric works out of the Ability Physical Therapy office in Mount Vernon and also works as a personal trainer at Elite Fitness in Lisbon.
